Is This The Time?

The past flashes uninvited
Can you steer clear of it?
Maybe yes, maybe no, they say
But we all have a different hilt.

What do you do?
When the one who could bring you out of it, is the one who pushes you back there,
Can that oxymoron ever even exist together?
How can devotion and despair go hand in hand?

Just when you thought the night was over
And dawn would finally show its mercy;
You only hastened that thought my dear,
Who said destiny was to offer you some courtesy?

One
Two
Three
Four
The hands of clock only moved how they would,
Now be ready to step into a different dimension, oh dear.
This was not the place you thought where you stood.

I see you made up your mind.
But the world is a different place, with happenings of different kind.

Did you not wish for time to stop?
Did it, back then?
Then how can it, now?

The sinners do pay a heavy price
But time is the supreme that shall decide.
When and how, you can't ask why,
For what it brings to us, you can't deny

And now my beloved, as you stride
You don't know what has been in the hide.

The past has followed you,
All the way through.
Can you take another blow?
This time too?
